"Ecumenism and Reconciliation for the 21st Century" is designed in conjunction with the Washington Theological Consortium. This program takes advantage of Washington's unique resources for cutting-edge study of ecumenism and reconciliation to equip a new generation of leaders to balance the essentials of denominational identity with the imperatives of local church mission, reconciliation and public witness. Pastors as ecumenical leaders and ecumenical leaders as pastors will need an increasing knowledge of and sensitivity to the differences that enrich and divide Christians. This doctor of ministry in Ecumenism and Reconciliation will integrate the knowledge and the pastoral sensitivity needed for effective leadership in the local congregation and beyond.
Application deadline is October 1, 2001. The first required term, January 7 to 18, 2002, will be held at Wesley Theological Seminary with subsequent terms including an immersion trips to Belfast and Dublin, Ireland.
